The vision to reach the Cane Bay, Nexton, and Carnes Crossroads communities of Summerville begain when Pastor Dan was driving with a friend through the old Westvaco pine forests and hunting grounds. It was shared that all these fields would all be homes. Pastor Dan immediatly began praying and asked what the Lord would have him do to reach the people who would come for Jesus Christ. When Covid hit and the world temporarily shut down the vision for a mission to these communities seemed obscured and he was moved to North Charleston where he served for 3 years. God continued to pull at his heart and when the Global Methodist Church was formed he saw an opportunity to do a new work.
This church plant is a new evangelistic opportunity to spread scriptural holiness and the love of Jesus Christ to a community of people who have come from all over the country (and world). We are all called to be missionaries. A recent spiritual demographic study showed that in these three communities only 28% of people are connected in any way with a church. We've got a lot of work to do and it involves true evangelism. We need to announce the Kingdom of God to a generation two times removed from a Christian committment. What an amazing opportunity.
We will meet in homes, multiply new small groups, and we are all responsible to one another for the mission Jesus is calling us to. What an amazing time to be alive and such an amazing opportunity to make an impact to change the world for the better. Let's feed to hungry, clothe the underclothed, serve the orphan & the widow; and show the world that Jesus is alive and is always with us! Praise be to God!
